If you saw the crash at the junction of Station Road and Philpot Lane during the morning rush hour on Wednesday (June 13th) involving a car and a coach taking 27 children from Chobham to Woking High School in Horsell, Surrey Police want to hear from you.

You can contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639933 quoting reference P12167311.

The 30-year-old silver BMW driver was taken to St George’s Hospital with head injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Eleven children suffered minor injuries, with two being taken, accompanied by senior school staff member, to St Peter’s Hospital A&E for a check up but were soon discharged.

Woking High School head Jane Abbott and other staff drove down to look after the young people and organise another coach to take them to school as soon as they heard about the accident.

The parents of all students on the coach were contacted and some collected their children from school. Ohter students attended lessons as normal. All students involved were given support and counselling from specialist school staff.

Road closures affected Philpot Lane, Station Road, Chobham Road and Littlewick Road and motorists were told to avoid the area for a period.
