Stovell's of Chobham has won the Best Restaurant Award in the first year of the Surrey Life Food and Drink Awards, presented at a glamorous night at Foxhills with newsreader Nicholas Owen.
It is another accolade for husband and wife team, Fernando and Kristy Stovell, who took over the former Cloche Hat, a Chobham institution, in 2012. The couple, from Mexico and New Zealand respectively, met at Westminster College in 1997 and have worked alongside one another ever since.
Chef Fernando has appeared on the BBC's Saturday Kitchen and Market Kitchen.
Stovell's is tipped for Michelin stardom to really put Burrow Hill on the culinary map.
