| Members of Chobham Parish Council Carol Gregorious Chairman 01276 488082 | I consider it a privilege to serve as an elected Parish Councillor being now in my second term. I am a practicing solicitor living and working in Chobham which I believe keeps me in touch with local issues affecting our village. In my first term and having become aware of the lack of a forum in which young people in our village could draw attention to their needs, I was instrumental in setting up a Youth Council out of which was resurrected the Chobham Youth Club for the 13 – 19 year age group. It is my intention in the current term to promote the use of our Council’s statutory and trustee powers and duties for the benefit of our village both at present and into the future which will hopefully include refurbishment of areas of our Station Road Recreation Ground. | Rob Bell 01276 856137 | I have been fortunate to live in Chobham since 1983. My three children grew up enjoying village life and the freedom of Chobham common. I spent many years as an engineer in motor sport having travelled the world. I want to see equal provision made for today's youngsters and senior citizens with improved transport, also to ensure that we get Surrey Heath's proper funding to alleviate our flooding problems in Chobham. | Linda Bainton 01276 856127 | I have lived with my family in Chobham for twenty four years. Over the years my children have attended local schools. I have been a member of the Carnival Committee and I was responsible for setting up Squirrels Nursery. My career in education, as a Head teacher of two schools and Head of a local Pre-Prep, has given me a greater insight into the issues facing local families. While living in this wonderful village I have become aware of the major environmental and financial issues that affect us all. My work will be to conserve and enhance the good that is held dear within our village and support all the needs and requirements of our Parish. | Diane Beach 01276 858479 | I came to work in Chobham in 1953 and have lived here since 1960. I served on the Parish Council between 2005/2007 and am pleased to be elected to serve again. The unique character of Chobham, which is influenced by its wonderful Common, is something I care about and hope to uphold. The Common should I believe, remain open and unenclosed for the enjoyment of all. Equestrians make a considerable contribution to the economy of the village and with the decline of horticulture and agriculture in the area, most of the land now accommodates grazing horses which I believe, if properly managed, is the best alternative use and helps to retain the rural atmosphere. | Edward Bentall Vice Chairman 01276 485819 | I have lived in Chobham for over 25 years and was previously a Chobham Parish Councillor in 2003 to 2007 and Chairman for two of those years. I am interested in all aspects of life in the community of Chobham. I am a member of the Chobham Society and Surrey Wildlife Trust who manage Chobham Common on behalf of Surrey County Council and I help out at the Chobham Museum. I represent Chobham Parish Council as a Trustee of the Chobham Community Centre and Chobham Poor Allotment Charity. I am Chairman of the Chobham Community Centre (CCIC) and a member of the Chobham Business Club. I am keen on sport and am a Vice President of the Chobham Cricket Club and a life member of the Chobham Rugby Club.
| Lee Chivers
| Lee has lived in Chobham for 15 years and has 3 daughters. Originally training as a carpenter and joiner, he then travelled abroad. He is now involved in business in the village: he owns the Langshot Equestrian Centre in Chobham where he caters for Riding for the Disabled and he owns the Castle Grove ("The Grove") pub. He is involved with the Children with Special Needs Charity and is a member of the Chobham Business Club. Lee aims to bring a younger perspective to local matters and to provide energetic action on village matters. | Ian Taylor 01276 858083 | Ian Taylor is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, having qualified in 1966. He recently retired, following a career in insurance, initially in Glasgow. In 1969 he transferred to the City of London, where, apart from an interlude of four years in West Africa in the early eighties, he remained until his retirement. He and his wife have resided in Chobham since 1972. | Pat Tedder 01276 858441 | Text to follow. | Sally Waller 01276 856796 | Sally moved to Chobham in 2009 with her family in order that her five children could benefit from the tranquillity that Chobham offers. She was born in 1966, and before her children were born she worked at Virgin Head Office and also managed a public house in London. Now that the youngest of her children attends St Lawrence Primary School, she has more time to give to the village. Her particular interest is in regard to facilities for children of all ages, as well as to maintain the beauty and qualities of the village that attracted her to live here. She would also hope that as being new to the village she can add another point of view. Civic involvement runs deep in her family. Her great grandmother received an MBE for services to the community, and her grandmother was councillor for Merton Park. She considers it a great honour to be elected onto the Parish Council and hopes she can do as much as she can to help Chobham residents fulfil their aspirations for the village. | Chris Chaney Parish Clerk | | [ home page ] [ top of this page ] | |
